The school is named after Guru Har Rai Ji who is the seventh of ten Sikh Gurus. He became the Sikh Leader at the age of 14,after the death of his grand father and the sixth Guru Har Gobind Ji. He loved nature very much. Guru sahib also established an ayurvedic medicine hospital and research centre at Kiratpur Sahib
